Getting Locked Up

Level 2 is participating in this years MDA Lockup. What the heck is that? It’s the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s way to raise money for research to fight the disease. We are going to be carted away in a patrol car and put in maximum security prison for a year until we have raised the bail set for us. Well… maybe not maximum security prison for a year, but we are getting carted off in a patrol car. Help us raise bail and support a cause that we have been affected by. Tyler and I have family that has suffered from Freidreich’s Ataxia, a form of Muscular Dystrophy and we want to do our part to help. Calling Creatives & Developer Freelancers

We are trying to gauge interest in a creative co-op with other freelancers in the area. We are opening up the idea to website/graphic designers, developers, copywriters, architects, and photographers. If you are in other creative professions, we are open to you as well. We want to provide a low-cost creative environment for you to call your office that isn’t your home, or the coffee shop.

We have tried working from home, and it sucks. We have also experienced a community of creative people that bounce ideas off of each other, and it rocks. That is what we are creating, so let us know if you want in.

CSS Hacking

I know this is old news, but we have to deal with IE and CSS issues all the time. I was using a technique that I called the “red-headed step child method,” which uses the CSS child selector, but it seems that IE has changed something that kept it from working. So I’ve figured it out again. Here is a sample:

.pricing {margin:9px auto;}
html>/**/body .pricing{margin-top:15px; margin-bottom:15px;}

With the above, IE will pick up the first statement. Whatever you need to change for the other browsers, you use the html>/**/body selector. IE will not pick up this statement with the /**/ included. Let me know what you think about this fix and what techniques you use.

We just finished a website for Jon & Gina Brunson, and their tv show Addicted to the Outdoors. It has been great working with Jon, and we feel like it has turned out great. Keep an eye on the site because we will be adding things shortly.
